Basically you get what you pay for, or maybe it’s better to say you pay for what you get. 8^)

Some ‘beginner’ guitars are almost impossible to play. If you didn’t already play the guitar, you wouldn’t know the difference. So I would recommend bringing someone who plays to a music store to help you pick one out.

If you are buying used, maybe it’s best to stick with well-known brands. Even then, some are better than others.

There’s the theory that you should never pay too much for your first one, buy a used instrument, because after 6 months or a year you will have a better idea of what you really want, and you can sell your first one for about what you paid for it.

    Good luck!

I’m 17 and have been playing for 4 years to the day. I am an avid guitar player and I love to study them. Since you’re just starting out I don’t recommend a high end Taylor brand. But try an Ibanez acoustic. Many can be sold between 100-200 dollars. They have very bright sounds to them and are very diverse in ranges of music. If there’s a certain type of music, the guitar of choice may vary. It’s also about how you feel with the guitar. Try the guitar out. If you need any assistance on the guitars, ask the store employees. They should know how to assist. Just remember that guitar playing isn’t easy. If it was, every little girl in town would be doing it. Just stick with it, and keep picking! Have a good day and good luck!

Nice tone, easy to fret( press down on the strings) Go to a store and try out lots of guitars in your price range, then maybe check the for sale ads and see if you can find something your familiar with second hand, could save you some money. by the way, well done taking up Gods instrument so late, stick with it and get lots of pleasure. Talk to your teacher.

Unless the instructor told you to buy a guitar…. don’t do it. You might be going through a “fling thing”. Besides, your instructor can and will point you in the right direction of guitar buying.

The actual seller of a guitar shop is trying to make money of course, “only the best is for you” gimmick.

“You will not succeed unless you buy our guitar on sale for $799.97 and today is the last day for this sale”
