How does the switch between iPhone and iPhone 3G happen?

iphone 3g
Chris W asked:

I have an old iPhone and I just ordered a iPhone 3G online through upgrade. In the process, I got a message saying that my current data and texting plans would be removed. I know the 3G has its own special data plan, but what happens to my texting? And is my current plan still active for my current iPhone until I switch SIM cards?

You will need to call 1-800-331-0500 from a different phone when you get the 3G iPhone to get the IMEI updated on the account (press *#06# on the device to get the IMEI) and once that is changed the iPhone data plan for $30.00 will be added and then you will have to choose a text messaging package as the 3G iPhone data plan does not inlcude messaging like the old plan did. Unlimited text messaging is an additional $20 per month; 1500 messages for $15; or 200 messages for $5.

You should have just gone to the apple store. They do everything for you there. So then you need to call your server and ask them why they sent you that messege. The old data plan was ok tonbe removed but not the texts. So jut ask them. And probably you are going to have to pay more for the texts. And the $30 for the data plan.
