how to wear the ralph lauren oxford shirts?
asked:
i recently bought an oxford shirt from ralph lauren. it is light pink and the typical button up fit. i was wondering if anyone had some tips or ideas on how to wear it. like un buttoned with a tee? or a cami? or sweater over it? or what? pictures or links would be nice

1. Put your arms in the two holes by the side of the big hole in the shirt.
2. Pull it over your head.
3. Pull the shirt down entirely.
4. ?????
5. PROFIT!!!

i usually wear my oxfords tucked into skinny jeans with flat booties, and occasionally with a blazer over top the shirt. other than with outfits similar to that, i tend to stay away from button downs. they’re usually a bit too preppy for my style. hope i helped

Don’t wear it unbuttoned for sure, it kind of takes away the classic preppy-ness, you know? It’s also not very flattering, kind of manly in a way. You could definitely wear it with a cami underneath, just don’t unbutton it (I mean, you can unbutton to see the cami a little, but don’t unbutton it completely). You could definitely wear a cute v-neck or crew neck cable-knit sweater over top, something like this (white would be the best option, but a heather gray would look cute as well): You don’t have to go so expensive – you can find nice v-necks at Gap, J Crew, and even Forever 21. As far as bottoms go, you can add a skirt (black or gray) to any of the above looks, as well as white or black jeans/pants…even tweed pants (tucked in), or bermuda shorts with a belt.
For a dressier look, you can pair it plain with a skirt. Wear a white cami underneath and unbutton the shirt just until you can see part of the cami (or right below the bust). Tuck this in to a high-waisted skirt like this one: (gray or black), or something a little younger, like this:=&sortby=&id=16744351&parentid=W_APP_SKIRTS_CIRCLE&sortProperties=+subCategoryPosition,+product.marketingPriority,-product.startDate&navCount=24&navAction=poppushpushpush&color=&pushId=W_APP_SKIRTS_CIRCLE&popId=W_APP_SKIRTS&prepushId=WOMENS_APPAREL (in black or flax, you could also add a slim leather belt to either color!)
